The Houston Chronicle has an op-ed from the former ambassador to Iceland talking about how much she loves Iceland — and how the United States needs to stop antagonizing its allies. Here's a quote:

My head was spinning this morning when I saw the headlines that President Donald Trump had accused Iceland of causing a stock market crash

“Iceland’s already cost us a lot of money,” he said during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

As the former U.S. ambassador to Iceland, I’ve grown to love the Nordic island nation and know that our two countries have long enjoyed a strong and mutually beneficial economic and strategic relationship. I began preparing a post about our valuable bond, but now it’s now clear the president was probably just referring to Greenland. 

Still, I’ll take any opportunity to brag about Iceland.
