Started using Vinted recently and my god the cultural difference between the French and us is mad. The French sell their class second hand clothes at a massive discount while Irish sellers seem to try to flog everything above RRP. Favourite example is these McDonalds Happy Meal socks for a tenner.

  1. I’d like a pair, wouldn’t give you a tenner mind you.

  2. To be fair, Unopened Mcdonald’s branded Grinch socks are a very niche item so anyone actively looking for a pair would probably pay even more than a tenner

  3. A lot of the class second hand stuff you see listed on vinted at a huge discount is most likely reproduction stuff. You might get some genuine bargains, but the vast majority of designer stuff at low price will be knock offs.

  4. I just opened the app and went to suit jackets for men.

The first results are lads in France selling Shein jackets. Very easy to cherry pick examples.

  5. I wanted them socks when McDonald’s was doing them. Ordered the Grinch Big Mac meal.

They were all out of the socks.

  6. If you want a laugh, look at the “art” being sold there – some of it is absolutely hilarious.

  7. There are an awful lot of clowns selling second hand stuff in Ireland. I regularly see things on adverts that are around the retail price or marginally less. Then they get defensive when you point it out, it’s pretty funny.
