Taxes on revenue would be crazy, no? You would have to entirely change the tax rate or else entire industries would die overnight. Any business with a profit margin below a certain (and high!) number would immediately shut down or dramatically increase their prices.
Bye bye retail, restaurants, air travel, local business oooor HELLO gigainflation
Tax on revenue huh? Maybe we should just tax the increased value so we don’t tax the same revenue over and over again. We could call it something like an added value tax.
This is nonsensical. By your logic those with the biggest expences, because they have the biggest house and the biggest car, would pay the least taxes.
He is not proposing taxes on revenue, he is proposing allowing regular people to write off their rent + reasonable food expenses, like 1000 usd per month, on their payroll tax.
“Businesses” is not sone evil term that represents the okigarchy and ruling class. A business is a guy trying (and barely making it) to make a living selling waffles outside a shopping center. A business is an electrician trying to put food on the table. A business is a way for many to share in wealth without taking all the risk.
Being double taxed sucks, but even with the double tax most governments can’t service their spending without deficits (Norway uses the oil fund). It’s a necessary evil to provide roads, provide better health to the population, and overall power the institutions we rely on daily
