What are your thoughts on traffic management in Geneva by the authorities and traffic engineers over the past 25 years?

Do you think it's effective, or should it be reconsidered in light of the results?

  1. Let’s also hear it for Lausanne, which, according to this study’s criteria, is more congested than Cairo.

  2. Maybe unpopular, but I think there has been too much focus on adding bike lanes, rather than focusing on the real solution: close the center to all cars (with all obvious exceptions).

Biking to work is great, I do it, but it doesn’t solve the traffic issue, as most cyclists’ alternative would have been taking the tram in any case.
You have to focus on people coming from farer or across the border, and the only solution is to force them to drop the car.
There are P+R solutions, but driving is more convenient until it’s an not option anymore.
