Bad enough they want backdoors into anything encrypted, including chat apps, VPNS, etc. But to let them have access to speakers/mics in your own home?
Remember that any backdoor for policing reasons, is a backdoor that criminals can use too.
This is replacing the 1993 Act, which was written before the internet was really a thing and covers such critical topics as telegrams. The ones without a capital ‘T’.
