The 26-year-old non-Irish national appeared again at Cloverhill District Court for his ninth hearing and was served with a book of evidence by the prosecution.
The man had the assistance of an Arabic interpreter during the hearing after the courtroom was cleared for the in-camera proceedings.
His defence is “she told him she was 18”

Edit; Out of curiosity, I started looking into sentencing for these kind of crimes. Sentences for non repeat or non-violent sexual assaults on children typically range 3-5 years. Jesus Christ. 3 years for destroying a child’s life.
I already pity the jury who are made go through this, speaking from experience(s) it is bloody horrific.
