Last week Saturday, I saw 2 coakroaches in the bathroom and since then have seen another one. I live in a very old building and don’t really know what to do. I informed the landlord of the situation, all he said was “it’s an old city,” and shrugged. I have been living in my one room apartment for more than 3 years and this is the first time I deal with this.

I am an orphan child, so I support myself while studying along with the city. I am scared that this whole ordeal might be blamed on me, even though I have kept my home clean. Moreover, I never saw the coakroach in the kitchen area. It’s always the bathroom and there’s no food in the bathroom.

I called the pest control via phone call and the prices started making me cry. I feel helpless and not even safe in my own home. (I have a huge fear of insects, let alone coakroaches)

  1. I got those cheap cockroach repellents online and never had one since

  2. First of, as long as you are not spreeding trash over your appartment or never throw out the garbage you are not responsible for this.

Also you shouldn’t hire pest control yourself if you don’t own the appartment. It is the job of the landlord to do this and they normally don’t want you to do it because they often know a company that gives them a good price.

In the end as dumb as its sound I hope the total “repair” will be over 200fr(very likely) because otherwise it could count as minor repairs and you would have to pay it yourself. But probably the first check up will be a 100 and then when they do it you are way over 200 so not your problem
