Hard to see any reason you’d want to invest any further time and money in training and onboarding and employing a transphobe, when there are very clear company rules and expectations on behaviour to those they’re responsible for the welfare of.
It’s really not hard to just give people the very basic respect of referring to them how they would genuinely like to be referred to.
I really don’t get why some many people are bothered by it.
Seriously, if this is you, speak up. Why does it upset you so much?
> Mr Weir said: “She was putting quite a lot [of] emphasis that it is the law and GEOAmey policy that we that we should call transgenders by their pronouns.” …
> … Mr Weir replied: “He said he was not prepared to lie and call a transgender a pronoun that is the opposite of their sex.
Funny how what seems to be the petitioner’s star witness and friend is also using dehumanising language around trans people.
Also why are we getting a news story that is basically a witness statement on behalf of one side of a random employment tribunal case? Why did this article happen? Did Sky send someone into court, or were they given transcripts and the key quotes included from a source involved in the case?

Oh, I guess that answers that.
It’s depressing how hostile to anything trans-related our press have become. Even within this article it is recommending two related stories:
> Nurse Sandy Peggie to appeal trans doctor row judgment
> Nurses say tribunal ruling proves ‘we were right the whole time’
Note the framing there. The anti-trans activists who *lost* are framed as being right, with the focus on their appealing. The ones who won are also being presented as being right.
I’m sure there are people around who can’t understand why they aren’t allowed to use N word. That doesn’t protect them from being dismissed if they insist on using it at work.
Do they insist on calling people by their full name? I mean, if a guy prefers being called Will but his name is David William Skyesdale calling him Will is a lie too, right?
