Hey everyone, just wanted to put out a warning so nobody else falls for this.
I recently tried to buy an iPhone 12 on Facebook Marketplace here in Switzerland. Everything seemed legitimate at first, but after I sent the money via [Twint/Bank Transfer], the seller completely ghosted me and never sent the phone.
The Red Flags (In Hindsight):
* The Profile: It’s a female account.
- The "Partner": Her "boyfriend" is also involved in the communication/payment process to add a layer of "credibility."
What I’ve Done So Far:
* Reported the profile to Facebook (though they rarely do anything).
* Gathered all screenshots of the conversation and the IBAN/Twint number.
* I am heading to the Cantonal Police to file a report (Suisse ePolice).
A Reminder for Others:
account for fraud.
* Don't delete the chat: Keep the evidence exactly as it is; the police will need the headers or the specific profile URL.
