Quick note about stuff sent to the PO box: I'm in the vast swath of the US that got smacked with a messy winter storm last weekend. Getting anywhere is a bit precarious right now. But I'm going to the post office later today, so if you've sent something, I'll get it then.

In my last post, I told you I'd placed a big NAR order. Here it is! Well, here most of it is. It turns out that paving my living room floor with CATs gets really tedious really fast, so you only see 230 of the 250 you bought.

As always, Oliver Griffin Giraffino McFartytonpants helped me count it all in and line it up all pretty for you.

What you bought:

  • CAT x 450. 100 are for Colombians defending Zaporizhzhia, whom u/tallalittlebit's been posting about lately because they need a LOT of support. 150 are replenishing UFL's stash in Germany. 100 will go to the 160th Mechanized, now in training in Ukraine. The remaining 100 will go to the 38th Marines.
  • 100 chest seals. 50 will go to our stash in Germany; 50 will go to the 38th.
  • 100 hemostatic gauzes. 50 will go to our stash in Germany; 50 will go to the 38th.

Your donations also paid for 15 soft litters–10 for PAV, 5 for an American medic–but that's not specifically from this fundraiser.

Today I'm buying the 38th a whole mess of pressure bandages

We're $1500 away from the full $11K donation match. Hospitallers just sent us a HUGE request for help.

Not 15 minutes ago, Arcaist sent me a message: Hospitallers is asking for as many tourniquets as we can provide, plus 1000 pressure bandages, plus 500-700 chest seals. Those are some pie in the sky numbers for sure, but–obviously–we'll get what we can for them.

UFL's needs

The 38th Marines and 160th Mechanized need several thousand dollars' worth of CATs, chest seals, hemostatic dressings, and burn dressings. We also need to resupply our hub in Germany, because what I brought last month has already been distributed. That also needs CATs, chest seals, hemostatics, and burn dressings to meet needs in between supply runs.

Getting everything for everyone is a pipe dream–the 38th's needs alone amount to over $11K–but obviously we need to get as close as we can.

PAV's needs

u/tallalittlebit will have more to say, but it boils down to this: A significant number of soldiers from Latin America are fighting in Zaporizhzhia, which is all too hot right now and all too underserved. Like defenders up and down the line, they need more of everything, including more medical supplies.

Unlike volunteers from wealthier countries, they don't have friends and family back home who can afford to help fill the supply gaps. That's where we, and you, come in. They, and loads of other teams, also need high-calorie, high-protein, lightweight, drone droppable food that also tastes nice, which you can find at the second Amazon wishlist link.

Monetary donations for medical supplies are better, if you can swing it.

We know people love to buy things directly. We love that you do, and we wouldn't dream of discouraging you. That said, I get a significant discount on all the medical supplies, which means that monetary donations go further than wishlist purchases do.

  1. Just to give you context of how important med supplies are right now, one of the medics PAV helps is an American medic in the 72nd Brigade. Jen is a registered nurse, I highly recommend following her instagram at [https://www.instagram.com/combat_medic23](https://www.instagram.com/combat_medic23) and it’s very informative about medical work on the frontline.

She contacted us today and gave us a list of supplies she had just run out of based on her latest patients. We ordered them with funds from our med supply fund to get to her overnight. We also have other supplies on the way that an awesome person brought to Ukraine themselves and then gave to us.

There is a never ending need for TQs, bandages, chest seals, etc.

  2. Sent to each. PayPal link was taking a bit to process, but it looks like they both went through. 🫶🐱
