Hello.

I'm Brazilian and interested in Polish culture. I first heard this song (Po partyzancie dziewczyna płacze) in a documentary about WWII. It shows a family celebrating an engagement, and then the old men gather and sing it. Both old men have lived through the war. More people join them as they sing it.

So I wonder how common this song is in Poland. I'm most interested in in among the older generations, but youngsters also welcome.

Link to the song (it was this version, if there are others): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlkaRCHAtRg

  1. Quite common. Still played out around the time of national holidays. You can check out polish street band “Ferajna z Hoovera” they usually sing patriotic songs. Most likely they have performed it too.

  2. Not gonna lie but this is the first time I’ve ever heard of this song
