Anyone have any idea when the next strikes might be please? I’ve got an NHS operation booked for middle of March (caused by NHS misdiagnosis, incidentally).
Thoughts for everyone else in the same boat. 6 million unique patients on NHS waiting lists plus those who haven’t yet had their first appointment 💙
I think they’re taking the piss now.
The NHS is being absolutely battered, public satisfaction is at an all time low because of crap conditions and underfunded facilities combined with countless stories of misdiagnosis (I know several myself and am included in that number, some of whom are dead as a result) from what I can see and yet the best paid people in active hospital jobs want *more* money, in the current economy of the country?
I’ve not had good experiences with doctors at all, so my opinions are definitely clouded with that but I was totally in support of their previous strikes. This is a bit far now for me.
The NHS needs assistance because of constant mismanagement and cronyism but I’m sorry I think doctors getting another payrise is just not a priority *at all* right now, things need to be rejigged and money redistributed at a higher administrative level before this becomes a priority.
The resident doctors have lost the public over this, we met all their longstanding demands and gave them huge payrises, to then complain they are still down on 2008 – well, so is the rest of the country!
Enoughs enough, Wes has my full support to start letting people go if they won’t work.
Good for them.

I‘m sorry your life is shit, but not standing up for yourself and accepting poor conditions and pay because ’thats just the way it is’ is exactly why your living standards are being eroded.

They picking a fight at the wrong time.
There is little support for them from the public. The fact the last two strikes have shown the hospitals are getting better at dealing with the short fall.
I don’t see them continuing this path will gain them public support or pressure on the government to give in..
In fact it’s just doing the opposite.

So only 49% of BMA members actively voted for the strike. If the ‘no’ voters had abstained, turnout would have been under 50% and the ballot would have failed
