  1. Based on what we know so far from reports there is a very real chance that he will not be in a fit state to stand trial. And that could be a real problem. I think we all know that a very large section of society will have a melt down over that. The horror of the crime committed will mean that their ability to understand that mentally ill people can do awful things will be almost zero.

Or am I wrong and a sensible, reasoned response will be the outcome with Derek Blighe asking for calm and understanding?

  2. what happened to him in the aftermath of the assault that left him with a brain injury?

  3. French 17 year old got him first is my understanding.

Then a local lad jumped in.

Finally the Brazilian delivery driver came with the helmet of justice.

The first 2 never really got any of their dues thanks to the want to hold up the Brazilian dude as a contrast to the vitriol of the rioters that night.

  4. Reminder for anyone who thinks he’d get off easy: being forcibly committed to the CMH is not a pleasant thing. He’d have his freedoms completely restricted, be on a cocktail of psychiatric drugs most likely, and will live with all the disabilities from having his skull bashed in.
