Europe is ready to jump in bed with China like their boyfriend left them. Geopolitical politics is a game of high stakes poker, not high school grade drama. Eventually they will see that China is a dicey partner at best and not aligned with their values or self-interest.
China’s support is also why the war in Ukraine is going to continue to drag on, sadly. Europe keeps pretending it’s almost over, Russia has a bad economy, blah blah, but China’s pockets are deep.
Why are we allowing misinformation here? Following that logic europe itself is funding Putin’s war
I mean China is simply conducting normal business with Russia. Moreover, China has not provided Russia with any direct lethal weapon. Many countries in the Global South, as well as Hungary, are also maintaining trade ties with Russia.
Strategically, it makes sense that China would want Europe preoccupied with Ukraine-Russia before an attack on Taiwan. It’s sad, that Europe lacks the resolve to end the conflict quickly.
Welp, with all respect to those countries who help, West (for exception for a few countries) decided that Russian defeat is not in their interest either, at least not in the sense of military defeat, and they still believe that they can continue to boil this frog.
Which is kinda ironic that they now afraid of any potential conflict with Russia. and in somewhat panic mode dumping money into their respective armies, preparing infrastructure and so on.
(not like we didn’t warned in 2022, but who listens, right ?)
No matter what the outcome of the war is, every dollar loaned to Putin imposes a far higher cost on the west. They’re also definitely going to collect Russian assets on the cheap as repayment when this is all over with.
