Planning on visiting Norway in early May and I want to see the fjords – deep, mountain sided fjords. I will be going to Bergen and doing the Norway in a Nutshell tour. Also thinking about the Lysefjord In A Nutshell tour https://www.fjordtours.com/en/norway/tours/lysefjord-in-a-nutshell. I heard Geirangerfjord (the other UNESCO fjord) is awesome but a bit hard to get to and it seems most tours don't start until June or so. I do see this one – have people done it and how was it?
Recommend it? I would fly to Alesund, and probably need to spend 2 nights there – and then fly back day after the tour.
Seems like that fjord would be better for if I visit again in the summer? Or other options that you recommend?
Looking for things that don't need driving/renting a car – only using public transit/tours.
Thanks!

Hurtigruten does not go into Geirangerfjorden until summer (June), but I nonetheless recommend it, both as a way to see fjords and a mode of transport. If you can come in early June, instead, when they do Geirangerfjorden, all the better.
But even if you do come in May, take Hurtigruten to Ă…lesund instead of flying.
