[LRT] Lithuania’s birth rate is declining rapidly each year, particularly in regional areas, with deaths now outnumbering births by roughly two to one. Despite efforts by some municipalities to boost births with generous financial incentives.
I’m still confused why governments are acting like it’s some straight forward economic issue.
It’s a cultural shift and you can’t really predict what could reverse it
>Some municipalities are offering larger cash benefits. In the Radviliškis district, families have received 1,500 euros for each newborn since last year.
Wow, 1500€. Va čia tai parama. Tuo tarpu į rajoną persikeliantiems gydytojams siūloma keliasdešimt tūkstančių + būstas + tikrai solidus atlyginimas.
What is meant to gain with financial boost? When there are no infrastructure or it is closing. No doctor in town, no school in town, no other things in town, everything is closing down because it is too expensive to upkeep them.
Just like every developed country. Countries like USA are doing better just because of immigration. We don’t want kids anymore, we are getting more selfish in a way and want to live for ourselves instead of dedicating life for raising children. Sure, raising children is expensive but it was always this way.
More immigrants!
Jei leistu nemoket gpm ir psdf – kepciau vaikus.
They should reduce taxes to parents with children and increase taxes for adults without children within about the 25-45 age range (if there is no known medical condition that would prohibit having children). That way the government does not suffer financially and gives a much larger incentive to have children. I think it makes sense that if you choose to not have children you should be paying for it as you are not helping to sustain the population which is critical for a country’s survival.
