The later part of Leo’s first post has me confused. What has bringing supplies to an embargoed country got to do with trampling on the rights of the embargoed country’s citizens?
Does Leo think Cubans should personally suffer until the Cuban government relents? And that anyone trying to eliminate that suffering is supporting the Cuban government?
Edit: I think he’s saying that the embargo itself is trampling on Cuban rights, but the way his message is structured, with what feels like an admonishment immediately before it, makes it confusing

I idolised and romanticised the Cuban revolution as a younger person but their government is extremely repressive, has been for decades, and it’s not all attributable to the embargo.
The embargo doesn’t stop them criminalising exactly the kind of art that kneecap themselves make, for example.
On the other hand, Leo Varadkar getting triggered by a group of people bringing aid and publicity to people who need it is peak newstalk dad energy.

Kneecap are so weird. 90% of the people who like them know nothing about their music, and wouldn’t even understand it anyway. The vast majority of their hype comes from their activism and not their music too.
All for celebrities or whatever you’d call them having an opinion on things, but at a certain point they’re just activists who happen to sometimes make music, more than they are musicians.
