Norway was the only country in Europe where Tesl sales grew in 2025 . In fact they grew by 41% to 34,285 units. I understand that Teslas may be an attractive option, but it amazes me that 34 thousand Norwegians were selfish enough to support Musk, a man who is directly harming Europe by openly helping Trump and various European far right parties. There are many good alternatives to Teslas. Why is Tesla so popular in Norway, when everywhere else in Europe Tesla is a dirty brand for good reason?

They make very good cars ,and at a good price .
I have a Tesla, happy to answer:
1. I didn’t politicized that decision. It was “the most car” I could get for the price. Would love a BMW iX whatever but it feels like cost/benefit is not there.
2. The cars were available. Volkswagen and Kia both told me that I would have to wait 7-8 months for the car. The model Y was there after 7 days, not months.
3. The charging network is cheap and convenient
Trust me, I’m not a fan of Musk and his politics. But I’m also not paying twice as much for a comparable car and then more for charging.
I clicked on this wondering myself why electric vehicles in general are very popular there – because if there’s something where they’re not good at, it’s long icy roads in cold conditions. LiPo doesn’t like cold.
However, reading your post, you really have to learn to distinguish the individual from the company. Musk isn’t Tesla and Tesla isn’t Musk and people who buy cars just want a car and not support a corporate overlord in a rogue third world country.
The ones that will be watching VM are the ones who buy Teslals. MMW
There were significant government incentives to force people onto electric vehicles. Tesla was early to capitalize on that market, and built a dealer network and a reputation. Not the best reputation IMHO; there’s been problems with the way they handle warranty claims and customer service compared to other brands, but they got an early edge in the Norwegian electric car market. They also built a lot of charging stations, and while I understand those are now required to work with other cars, they’re still Tesla stations and Tesla-branded. So that has an impact.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy one and I’m not trying to defend Tesla. But you asked for the reasons, so this is my attempt at an explanation.
Sales went down significantly after elon sieg heiled for the world to see, then people forgot after a month or two.
