Easy to burn through money when it’s not your own, but at this stage let’s just get this fucking thing built
This does have the whiff of a buy-off given that the purchase was tied to removing an objection, but the core assertion that it’s peanuts compared to months or years of delay is correct.
This stinks of an inside job.
Presumably they will buy at a premium, so it’s basically a bribe. Absolute fucking madness. They weren’t even due to be directly affected by the metro. The station is half a mile down the road.
The rich get richer
It is €30m now but how much will they be able to sell these properties for when the metro is built?
It could be a shrewd investment if well managed, and also gets rid of a potential long and expensive delay caused by the objectors.
There’s no way they are buying them for fair market value. Given everyone signed up, I’d say it is well over.
Rather than fix the system, those who obstruct it get paid off
