you can tell im American because I dont give a damn about data privacy laws. and anyways, id upload these to some sort of history book. I can't progress much further, and I probably, never will ever again in my life, have the time to open this open. I have more photos, specially, Scwienfurt Battiery 116 it says, I see my great aunt posing outside of a huge cannon.
I dont know who they are- what the ranks, whatever, I know they Lived in dortmund. I see an image of a guy that looks like me, and it's my grandpa.
I typed in the name and date on the grave into Invenio- budnestag archive. But I have to go to Freiburg to see the personal file. I won't be able to go back sometime soon. But who was this guy? Isnt an iron cross rather huge?
Im blown away, I got it traced that he was from Breslau, got the Iron Kross 1st class??? No way, What type of iron cross is that.? is it like a veteran type of Iron cross/? which seems extreme for me, especially because nobody in the family knew they existed. but for the native germans. I was told this by my grandpa. He said half my family stayed in Germany the other went to USA in 1953. I want to use this to find them.

Uhhh… dude no
My dude… I know how interesting it is to learn about your family heritage but please tone down your excitement especially about Captains/Reserves from that time period in Germany.
Hi, my relatives were from Lower Silesia as well. I hired a genealogist to get to the records in Wroclaw (Breslau) and Świebodzice (Freiburg Schlesien). We are still in the process of doing research, but so far it has been really helpful. I would suggest looking into a genealogist to help find your family.
Who’s gonna tell them?!
Probably a reason why nobody in the family was openly talking about him….
