This case exposes a complete failure of self regulation in the equine industry.
No mandatory safeguarding standards. Weak vetting. Victims isolated and silenced to protect reputations.
If someone with a known violent or sexual conviction can be welcomed back into the equine industry and continue working around children, what does that say about the governing bodies, the Department of Agriculture, and a system that relies on self-regulation instead of enforced safeguarding?
So animal abuse and child abuse. The equine industry is something I have no time or respect for and feel sorry for people who have a genuine interest in it.
