So we went from 6 billions to 7 billions.
It’s not *that* bad for 36 F-35As, but I’d rather buy Gripen Es or even Rafales. Or were they reduced to 30 jets? That’s… We went from a decent deal to a sour one.
I am worried by their airworthiness, but I also know there was a lot of bad journalism initially too against the F-35.
There is one thing important however, we start receiving them in 2027. I think that’s the main issue at play here.
What I would also consider is if it is possible to upgrade our F-18 airframes.
Wait, didn’t we do that with the Upgrade 25 program? If so, combining our F/A-18C with F-35A would be a great combo. I can understand that.
If anyone here is strongly against the F-35 I’d love to discuss it here.
