hello everyone – really hoping that there is a tax whiz out here who can help me navigate this personal situation.
I need to moveout of Luxembourg due to professional reasons( job loss/no new opportunities) .
I (and my partner) purchased an apartment in 2020 that is still on loan.If I move-out of this one and have tenants for the next 2-3 years (primary objective would be to hope for an increase in prices) before selling
my questions are :
– if I sell in 2-3 years , would it still be considered primary residence if I don't own any other property worldwide? and considering I moved out due to professional reasons? Guichet is unclear on that . I have owned/occupied this one for more than 5 years.
– re-evaluation of buy price – I don't understand how the base price increase is considered when accounting for capital gains ? what is this reevaluation ( as shown by the nexvia calculator ) ? where do the indexation factors come from ? link for the simulator is below

thanks for your help in advance
