  1. > Since signing the MOU, Anthropic and DSIT have been collaborating on how to bring AI into government services safely and effectively. The GOV.UK AI assistant, powered by Claude, is one of the first major outcomes of that work. It’s an agentic system designed to go beyond answering questions—actively guiding people through government processes with individually-tailored support.

I’m surprised they didn’t choose Microsoft.

  2. Jesus Christ. They need to sort out the user experience first. I signed up as self employed in December as a person who’s spent 13 years working on user experience, I felt like I was going to have a stroke. I feel sorry for people who struggle with technology. Let’s be honest, this AI will likely be useless shit.

  3. Wake me up when AI can finish my personal assessment for HMRC

  4. So, if Claude tells me I don’t need to pay tax on something is that binding?

Or is the legal responsibility on me to double check everything that the AI tells me?

  5. That a big **nope** from me.

Stop giving big US companies access to our private data (and “AI” is fucking useless without scraping up all the data).

More to the point, there’s plenty of model descriptors around that would *let us roll our own* if that’s something that we definitely need.

  6. Basically none of these AI companies can find many people to pay for AI junkware, so they’re looking to fleece Governments instead? Bet this is going to be expensive for minimal gain

  7. Nobody asked me if I want my tax money wasted on this pink elephant !
