Employees will be able to opt-out of the scheme during the opt-out window which is between six months and eight months of the date they were automatically enrolled.
In availing of the opt-out window, employees will be refunded their own contributions since enrolment but the employer or state contributions will remain for their benefit in the fund.
If employees leave the plan or suspend contributions, they will be automatically re-enrolled after two years if still eligible for the scheme.
Alt headline: Thousands of workers to benefit from enrolment in a pension scheme for the first time
I get paid weekly.iv been seeing the ‘hit’ the last few weeks.
Damn I must be masochist because I’ve been taken them hits for years
Not really, so many people on low pay are paid weekly or every 2 weeks, and they tend to be the people with no company pension
Hardly a hit my jaysus 😂
I’ve been getting the hit since the first week of January.
Also, not a bad thing if it helps fund something necessary as pensions.
Everyone needs a pension setup automatically when they start working. I spent most of my younger life working in a company that didnt offer a pension and i never set up my PRSA because i couldnt be arsed. Im in my 40s and regret it.
