Today, while looking through my late grandfather's belongings, I found this Bible with a dedication.
We are Argentinean and we know that they migrated to the country during World War II. From what I've been told, they were actually Polish, but that part of the story is unclear.

I am asking this here because it has a sticker in German from the original bookstore. If anyone could help me decipher even a name or what is written, I would appreciate it! It is a small way to connect with my ancestors.

    As the person wrote this themselves (as opposed to Maria writing good wishes into the book), they may have made the note later than 1908, to remind themselves or others when and by whom it was given.

  2. The book was supplied by the bookstore and stationer Aloys Bauer (the name of the proprietor) in Cochem on the river Mosel.

    I wasn’t able to find much about the bookstore online, except that they were still around in 1916.

    Interesting side note: I think that “Schreibwaaren” is a misspelling, even by 1908’s orthography. 🙂
