The police and the prosecutor's office, analyzing the evidence, established that the disappearance and death of another resident of Szczucin, Tadeusz D., is also directly related to the murder of Iwona Cygan. In January 1999, immediately after the broadcast of a crime program in which the murder of a teenager was discussed and a reward for an informant was announced, this man was supposed to say that he knew the perpetrator. The next day, he disappeared. His body was found after a few months in the Vistula River, several kilometers below Łęka Szczucińska. Despite the indications that a murder had occurred, the police decided that it was an unfortunate accident.
