Serge Allegrezza has resigned as President of the Board of Directors of LuxTrust after 20 years in the role, citing the need for a strategic reorientation following a major technical failure in December
Allegrezza announced his resignation during an RTL interview on Thursday morning, January 29, having informed the board the previous day . He described the departure as a direct consequence of the critical service outage that occurred in mid-December 2025 . He characterized the incident as an "embarrassing error" that should not have happened and apologized for the significant disruption it caused to national digital services
Monopoly Defense: Allegrezza argued against dismantling LuxTrust's monopoly, noting that building competing infrastructure would cost €20–30 million and could jeopardize the company's profitability and its 130 jobs .

Is the monopoly defense really what was said? If so absolutely silly to argue you can not break up the monopoly because you would hurt the company
