Marius Borg Høiby pleaded not guilty to the first count of the indictment against him when the criminal case against him began in Oslo District Court.
The first count of the indictment is that he allegedly had sexual intercourse with someone who was unconscious or for other reasons unable to resist the act, so-called sleep rape.
In total, there are 38 counts in the indictment against Høiby. The most serious charges include four counts of rape in bed against four different women and abuse in close relationships against former partner Nora Haukland.
Before the trial began, Høiby pleaded partially guilty to some of the charges in the indictment, including acts of violence, threats and violations of the Road Traffic Act, as well as possession of drugs.
