It’s like the thief used to rob without any punishment who goes to another country, tries to do the same and moans about being harassed when the police tell him to abide by the rules.
Ireland should kindly tell US Congress to start taking care of the US own problems. Like a president acting like a dictator and federal agencies run by lunatics and murdering people on the streets.
Lmao, this reads like they are raving mad their efforts in influencing European elections are not working as well as they were hoping they would.
Awww… I hope US can provide them psychotherapists to work on the deep mental trauma we are causing.
By “harassment” they mean, the outrageous idea that US companies operating in the EU would have comply with EU and national legislation.
These poor multi-trillion dollar companies… What will they tell to the shareholders?
Awww, are the immoral, multi-billion dollar corporate entities not happy being forced to follow the law? Let me play a sad song for you on my invisible violin
US preparing invasion of Ireland in 3,2,1,……. TACO
EU citizens are victims of harassment from tech giants. There I fixed the title.
Tech giants are free to not do business with EU and Ireland if they feel so “harassed”. Free markets and all that.
Blablabla stfu US-whatever
I hear the world’s smallest violin playing somewhere in the distance.
And it happens barely a few hours after the French raided X headquarters in Paris
Harrasment = We cant straight up buy everyone like back home so we are sad we must abide by the law
That’s the type of harassment I’m happy to support.
Would loooove to see how much those tech companies donated to those losers.
For the love of God, won’t *somebody* think about the poor harassed tech giants!
Fuck the USA
No they are being held to a community standard their communities value. America does NOT supersede other countries community values under ANY circumstance.
Such crybabies.
“Won’t somebody please think of the billionaires?”
Every day I pray that the USA’s latest schizophrenic episode gives our leaders the strength to shut out American influence forever.
Every business has a responsibility to the public to ensure its products do not cause harm. For far too long, we have allowed technology companies to exploit systems designed for fair use. They do not pay an appropriate level of taxes, they do too little to protect vulnerable users, and they generate enormous profits from advertising and personal data that is often collected without meaningful consent. It is time for them to be brought into line, regulated like any other industry, and held accountable for their failures.
We cannot continue to allow these platforms to destabilize our society with toxic content. Imagine the internet as a physical store you walk into. Picture the person at the door welcoming you inside. Instead of protection, it would resemble a plastic police officer waving millions of children through to view material meant only for adults. Inside, stalking, harassment, and verbal abuse would be tolerated. Misinformation would be rewarded, profits taken from the public, and responsibility carefully avoided.
Enough is enough. The internet must be regulated and safer platforms must be created. This is achievable. It is not impossible. Some would have you believe that regulation is the problem, but the real issue is the absence of effective oversight in these spaces.
whatever, keep harassing them then
This is the world’s smallest violin, playing the worlds saddest song, just for you tech giants.
Tarrifs inbound lol.
US multinationals being harassed by our (Irish) regulators? I’d pay good money to see that happen – €13 billion, to be exact.
Presumably in the same way that criminals are the victims of ‘harassment’ by the law.
Tech giants bought the US gov to harass EU
I guess they would be the experts on harassing citizens, wouldn’t they
