Hello everyone!
Sorry if a similar post was written, I could not find anything related to my case specifically
I've applied for my D-type visa for studying in Germany on the 8th of October 2025 through TLSContact(Tunisia, Tunis). And I've been waiting forever for my passport now :/.
BFAA(Bundesamt für auswärtige Angelegenheiten) contacted me two weeks and a half ago to tell me to sign up to a new German course, that should start at least 1 month after the date of their sent E-Mail. I've done just that and after they responded that "die Bearbeitung deines Visum wird jetzt fortgesetzt" or something similar I haven't got ANYTHING since then.
I am using now that I just need to take my passport from TLSContact, once it is received from the embassy but still it's really taking too long… My new German course, that should've started on 26th of November now was moved to 2th of February and my prepaid rent of 630€ per month is going down the drain.
This is taking a heavy emotional toll on me and now I am already imagining the worst. Will I have to hire some kind of lawyer and file a case against the foreign office if they extend this to 4 months? I am pretty sure this is against the law because it's literally stated here:
Für diese Prüfung ist abhängig vom Reisezweck eine Bearbeitungsdauer von bis zu drei Monaten möglich
Should I contact the embassy and inform them about it? I've already sent them an E-Mail a month ago and they haven't responded so I am not optimistic in this regards. Perhaps contacting the BFAA themselves could help?
I really have no clue what I should do. Any advice would be amazing and thank you really I appreciate it!
TLDR: Studies-Visa processing is taking forever and I am not sure what should be done.
