I Need to Look for it but I saw a Video on Instagram
This Morning from someone from the Knigge Akademie on how to eat your Döner!
Less dressing. Or trying the wrapped variant (dürüm). Or try it with a plate using cutlery.
short answer: no
long answer: nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
You can try, but it’s stupid – SPIEGEL magazine recently interviewed an etiquette expert who teaches how to eat a Döner in his courses and even his demonstration to the reporters ended up a failure.
I’d suggest getting a Dürüm/Yufka instead.
(If you absolutely have to go with a Döner – try to get one with very little sauce, carefully eat from the right & left margins inwards and hunch over.)
You pay an euro more and get a durum.
If it’s not a mess it’s not a proper döner
Keep the tinfoil around, peel it down bit by bit. The faster you are the less soggy the bottom of the bread is. Once it is almost down, peel off the side and eat your way along horizontally from one side, once again peeling away the tinfoil. It takes practice.
As long as youre not taking it onto a bus or train you’ll be fine

Unhook your lower jaw and pop it in.
Making a mess is part of the experience. 🤌
I’ve found a bowl or bucket helps.
Next time get a Dürum.
