Hi,

Because of the storm/weather, my train from Köln to Hamburg was cancelled yesterday, there were no other train available so I had to take a hotel for the night at Köln. The DB desk said to me to book it myself (up to 120€) and to ask for the reimbursement in the compensation form online.

However, when I go to the DB Navigator app and try to submit a compensation request, I have this error message:

"Cannot be submitted for travel

It is currently not possible to request compensation for your trip.
Please note that requests can only be submitted after the intended departure time."

I do not have any return trip so my guess is that they will not compensate the ticket because the weather it's "a force majeure" ? In that case how can I submit for the hotel compensation without having to mail something ? Is there an email or another form online ?

In bahn.de when I look at my past trip, for my Köln-Hamburg trip I don't even have the button to claim compensation,
