Van Bossuyt’s decision would immediately expose the asylum seekers concerned “to the risk of ending up in a state of complete deprivation and having to sleep on the street”. Moreover, the Minister should have consulted the Legislation Department of the Council of State before submitting the directive to Fedasil to pass on, it sounds like.

2. Even if you think about it from a conservative perspective (which I don’t agree with), the NVA strategy just keeps shifting the burden on the citizens’ shoulder. This means we as citizens have to deal with the outburst of unhoused people when we have our own problems to deal with.

3. Politiek is toch gek hoor. Van Bossuyt was zodanig competent op lokaal niveau dat ze haar per se staatssecretaris moesten maken?
