La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 se d\u00e9chirait sur <strong>l\u2019affaire Dreyfus<\/strong>. La <strong>r\u00e9volution industrielle<\/strong> apportait son lot de bouleversements techniques. Parmi les accomplissements de l\u2019homme et de la machine, le <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/tag\/metro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">m\u00e9tro<\/a>. \u00c0 <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paris<\/a>, la <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/ile-de-france\/puteaux_92062\/ratp-la-ligne-1-du-metro-va-etre-partiellement-fermee-pendant-plusieurs-jours-cet-ete_62717433.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ligne 1<\/a> est inaugur\u00e9e le 19\u00a0juillet 1900, avec huit stations reliant la <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/ile-de-france\/paris_75056\/chantier-eole-la-circulation-simplifiee-porte-maillot-a-paris_57457257.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">porte Maillot<\/a> \u00e0 la <strong>porte de Vincennes<\/strong>. Une \u00e9volution cens\u00e9e symboliser la mont\u00e9e en puissance de la capitale, h\u00f4tesse de l\u2019Exposition universelle.<\/p>\n<p>Un axe strat\u00e9gique et symbolique pour Paris<\/p>\n<p class=\" wall-content\">Cent vingt-cinq ans plus tard, la ligne 1 a bien <strong>chang\u00e9<\/strong>. Totalement automatis\u00e9, le tron\u00e7on transporte chaque ann\u00e9e des <strong>dizaines de millions de voyageurs<\/strong>. De quoi lui conf\u00e9rer une place parmi les lignes les plus fr\u00e9quent\u00e9es. De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, la <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/tag\/ratp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RATP<\/a> a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de sauter plusieurs d\u00e9cennies dans le temps pour revenir aux sources du chemin de fer m\u00e9tropolitain. Une plaque intitul\u00e9e \u00ab\u2009\u00c0 la lumi\u00e8re du premier m\u00e9tro\u2009\u00bb a \u00e9t\u00e9 appos\u00e9e sur le quai de la ligne 1 \u00e0 la porte Maillot.<\/p>\n<p class=\" wall-content\">\n<p class=\" wall-content\">Du creusement sous la <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/tag\/rue-de-rivoli\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rue de Rivoli<\/a> aux perc\u00e9es effectu\u00e9es \u00e0 la porte de Vincennes, la R\u00e9gie red\u00e9ploie ses archives afin de rendre hommage aux <strong>ouvriers pionniers<\/strong>. Le texte rappelle \u00e9galement que la ligne 1 \u00e9tait le premier des <strong>six r\u00e9seaux m\u00e9tropolitains<\/strong> d\u00e9clar\u00e9s d\u2019utilit\u00e9 publique en mars\u00a01887. Au total, 65\u00a0km de chemins ferr\u00e9s \u00e9taient pr\u00e9vus pour accueillir le m\u00e9tro.<\/p>\n<p class=\" wall-content\">Le d\u00e9veloppement de Paris et de la petite couronne a conduit les autorit\u00e9s \u00e0 mener des projets <strong>d\u2019extension<\/strong>. En 1937, le terminus de la ligne 1 \u00e0 la porte Maillot est d\u00e9plac\u00e9 au <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/ile-de-france\/neuilly-sur-seine_92051\/hauts-de-seine-la-riche-histoire-du-pont-de-neuilly_48423522.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pont de Neuilly<\/a>. Au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1990, l\u2019axe reliant l\u2019ouest \u00e0 l\u2019est de la capitale subit un nouveau prolongement. Alors que le quartier de <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/tag\/la-defense\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">la D\u00e9fense<\/a> cro\u00eet, la RATP creuse une station sous la Grande Arche. Une alternative au <a href=\"https:\/\/actu.fr\/tag\/rer-a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RER A<\/a>, d\u00e9j\u00e0 satur\u00e9. En 2025, la D\u00e9fense reste la station finale de la ligne 1.
