Apr\u00e8s des d\u00e9buts dans la vid\u00e9o et le skate, il se tourne vers la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.fr\/article\/cindy-sherman-expositions-the-women-minorque-espagne\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">photographie<\/a> lors d\u2019un s\u00e9jour \u00e0 Cuba, avant de se former \u00e0 la Tisch School of the Arts \u00e0 New York. Il fait une entr\u00e9e m\u00e9morable dans le monde de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.fr\/article\/annees-90-tong-compensee\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">mode<\/a> en devenant le premier photographe noir \u00e0 signer une couverture de l\u2019\u00e9dition am\u00e9ricaine du magazine Vogue, immortalisant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.fr\/mode\/inspirations\/diaporama\/beyonce-looks-scene-extraordinaires\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> dans un portrait devenu embl\u00e9matique, alors qu\u2019il n\u2019est \u00e2g\u00e9 que de 23 ans. \u00c0 travers son travail, <strong>Mitchell<\/strong> construit une esth\u00e9tique lumineuse et optimiste, o\u00f9 il c\u00e9l\u00e8bre la beaut\u00e9 et la libert\u00e9 des corps noirs, loin des st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes. Il red\u00e9finit ainsi les codes de la mode et du portrait contemporain, entre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.fr\/article\/joue-la-comme-beckham-film-suite-informations-keira-knightley\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">culture<\/a> pop et engagement social. \u00c0 partir du 15 octobre 2025, la Maison Europ\u00e9enne de la photographie lui consacre une exposition (la toute premi\u00e8re en France).<\/p>\n<p>Wish This Was Real, une ode \u00e0 l\u2019identit\u00e9 noire<\/p>\n<p>Dans les clich\u00e9s de <strong>Tyler Mitchell<\/strong>, les corps noirs prennent place dans des d\u00e9cors lumineux, joyeux et color\u00e9s. \u00c0 travers un langage visuel \u00e0 la fois d\u00e9licat et puissant, le photographe m\u00eale portraits, paysages et mises en sc\u00e8ne utopiques pour dessiner une vision alternative du r\u00e9el. Plut\u00f4t que de revisiter les r\u00e9cits historiques, il cr\u00e9e des mondes possibles o\u00f9 les personnes noires sont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans toute leur complexit\u00e9, leur beaut\u00e9 et leur humanit\u00e9.
