Depuis son poste d\u2019observation \u00e0 1,5 million de km de la Terre, le t\u00e9lescope spatial James Webb (JWST) a rep\u00e9r\u00e9 une nouvelle petite lune en orbite autour d\u2019Uranus, a annonc\u00e9 mardi la NASA. Selon l\u2019agence spatiale am\u00e9ricaine, le nouveau satellite semble mesurer seulement dix kilom\u00e8tres de diam\u00e8tre. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9 par la cam\u00e9ra proche infrarouge du t\u00e9lescope au cours d\u2019observations en f\u00e9vrier, explique l<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/new-moon-uranus-jwst-5b348bb1443477ebad62bed7245abbf3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" data-gtm-custom-categorie=\"navigation\" data-gtm-custom-action=\"crossclick\" data-gtm-custom-label=\"Contextuel\" data-gtm-event=\"customEventSPE\">\u2019Associated Press<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p class=\"fig-paragraph\">Pour expliquer cette d\u00e9couverte tardive, les scientifiques avancent deux raisons\u00a0: la faible luminosit\u00e9 et la petite taille de cette lune. Deux causes suffisantes pour expliquer comment elle a pu \u00e9chapper au dernier examen des donn\u00e9es prises par la sonde Voyager 2, la seule ayant autant approch\u00e9 la plan\u00e8te, il y a pr\u00e8s de 40 ans, \u00e0 un peu plus de 80.000 kilom\u00e8tres de sa surface. Uranus comptait jusque-l\u00e0 28 lunes connues.
