DCNS, qui avait assur\u00e9 du 23 mars au 7 avril un premier car\u00e9nage du navire, sera en charge des travaux. Le Liamone devrait entrer dans l&rsquo;un des bassins Vauban (lou\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;Etat) pour un mois et demi, \u00e0 partir de la mi-novembre. Les travaux devraient notamment concerner l&rsquo;appareil propulsif, avec un changement standard de deux moteurs de 25 tonnes chacun. La coque subirait aussi un car\u00e9nage, tout en \u00e9tant repeinte, mais sans doute pas aux couleurs de la SNCM. <br \/>Principal actionnaire de la compagnie, Veolia Transports pr\u00e9voit, en effet, de transf\u00e9rer le NGV Liamone \u00e0 Tahiti, o\u00f9 il devrait \u00eatre exploit\u00e9 dans les \u00eeles de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Car Veolia a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisie par le gouvernement polyn\u00e9sien pour desservir l&rsquo;archipel, son dossier \u00e9tant pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 celui d&rsquo;un armateur local (ce qui provoque des remous \u00e0 Tahiti). <br \/>Construit par les chantiers Alstom Leroux-Naval (aujourd&rsquo;hui STX France) de Lorient en 2000, le Liamone mesure 134 m\u00e8tres de long pour 19.8 m\u00e8tres de large. Capable d&rsquo;atteindre la vitesse de 42 noeuds, il peut transporter 1116 passagers et 250 voitures. Selon la presse tahitienne, le NGV pourrait d\u00e9buter ses rotations en mars prochain.
