Les \u00e9tudes montrent qu\u2019une partie des conducteurs les utilise comme de simples mod\u00e8les essence, en d\u00e9laissant le mode \u00e9lectrique et, au passage, l\u2019argument \u00e9cologique. Difficile de soutenir l\u2019inverse: un PHEV qui n\u2019est jamais recharg\u00e9 reste une voiture \u00e0 essence alourdie par sa batterie. Et sur route, on le constate souvent, l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 d\u00e9pend d\u2019abord de la prise \u00e9lectrique.<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9gulateurs europ\u00e9ens ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9pingl\u00e9 l\u2019industrie pour des hybrides dont les \u00e9missions r\u00e9elles d\u00e9passent jusqu\u2019\u00e0 cinq fois les chiffres officiels. Avec cette approche, les PHEV pourraient conserver une fen\u00eatre de survie au\u2011del\u00e0 de 2035, date \u00e0 laquelle l\u2019UE pr\u00e9voit d\u2019interdire les moteurs thermiques.<\/p>\n<p>La proposition ne fait toutefois pas l\u2019unanimit\u00e9. Les sceptiques y voient une atteinte aux droits des propri\u00e9taires et un pas de plus vers une surveillance g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9e des comportements au volant.
