Fid\u00e8le \u00e0 la tradition, l\u2019\u00e9preuve s\u2019ouvrira par un prologue, sans toutefois proposer cette ann\u00e9e de second contre-la-montre. Le parcours totalisera 853,8 kilom\u00e8tres pour 14 183 m\u00e8tres de d\u00e9nivel\u00e9 positif. D\u2019apr\u00e8s les organisateurs, l\u2019\u00e9tape-reine est programm\u00e9e le samedi, entre Broc et Charmey, dans le canton de Fribourg. L\u2019arriv\u00e9e finale sera jug\u00e9e \u00e0 Leysin. \u00c0 noter enfin que quatre communes accueilleront pour la premi\u00e8re fois la course WorldTour : Broc, Rue, Villars-sur-Gl\u00e2ne et Vucherens.
