Town Among Clubs Linked With Paris FC Defender
Thursday, 7th May 2026 12:48
Town are reported to be among a number of Premier League clubs showing interest in Paris FC defender Moustapha Mbow.
According to RMC Sport, Crystal Palace, Fulham and West Ham have already made significant offers for the 26-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window with Town and Liverpool said to have made enquiries. German clubs and Ligue 1 Lille are also believed to be keen, the latter having made an approach in January.
Centre-half Mbow has been with Paris FC, who are 11th in Ligue 1 having been promoted a year ago, since the summer of 2023 and is contracted until the summer of 2028.
Capped by Senegal at U20 level, the 6ft 4in tall Dakar-born defender has been called into the senior squad but so far without making his full international debut.
Having been with AF Darou Salam in his home country, Mbow moved to Stade de Reims in 2019. Following loan spells with Nimes and Seraing in Belgium, he joined his current club.

Oshea proven prem league flop so no surprise we are looking for someone better. So. e taller who us happy to mark players rather than zones from corners and is not goung to continually give the ball away

Very positive Stato….nice

Stato. Talking bs as always. Oshea will be fine as long as he has a good player alongside him. Showed towards the end of this season. When kipre struggled after his ban, Oshea looked shaky. Totally solid when Greaves played tho. Only time he gives the ball away is when he tries to play that pass centrally the midfield. Other than that, his passing is good. So if he cuts that 1 particular pass out of his game theres not a problem with him.

Seato were you watching our matches in the Premier League when O’Shea was our best defender. People like you wind me up.

Stato. I think you need an English Literature class and a new prescription for your glasses.

I assume we’ll be in the market for 1 more CB with Baggott likely to be loaned out.

I love this time of the year, all of the transfer gossip, rumours and whispers, even more so this year with us needing Prem quality signings. Should be fun!

Gforce added 14:32 – May 7
Be nice if we can sign 2 or 3 stars from the world cup.

Sounds interesting. Clearly sought after with that list of clubs after him.

Linkboy13 added 14:59 – May 7
O’shea was one of our better performers in the Premier league and has done well for his country against quality opponents but hasn’t really had a partner who has nailed down that position along side him. As Mick Mills said on the radio we need to sign four or five quality players rather than seven or eight championship standard players. But at the moment the club is giving the impression they are preparing for another campaign in the championship by signing Akpom and to a lesser extent Kipre but it’s early days so let’s see what the summer brings.

Let’s be honest, there are going to be thousands of players linked, we have a world cup coming and the window doesnt even open until mid june, I’ll start paying attention when we get announcements from the club, and only then…..

Steve_ITFC_Sweden added 15:20 – May 7
Linkboy: I don’t think we would have chosen to sign Akpom, and maybe not Kipré, if we had been given a choice. The point is, we have to as it is in their contracts. That said, I think Kipré might to a job for us, perhaps as a backup squad player.

Carberry added 16:00 – May 7
And the problem is someone agreed to those clauses in their conttacts.

LegendofthePhoenix added 16:41 – May 7
Carberry, if you don’t agree to the clause, there is someone else who will. Unfortunately having been relegated a year ago, we needed to strengthen and found it hard to get the players we wanted. Clearly some of the acquisitions were not our first choice and/or came with strings attached. But first priority was to get promoted, we’ve done that and the loan players helped us achieve that goal. Let’s leave it to them to decide what to do with players they don’t think will make the step up. And it’s good to be linked with a player of this quality.

Carberry added 17:48 – May 7
But sadly, Legend, we have been loaning players we are now contracted to keep. Would have been nice if our judgement was somewhat better so we aren’t now stuck with Akpom at a cost of £7m, for example. That’s the problem with our recruitment, it’s all ego and hunches, and before someone says we got promoted on the back of it we need to remember this was the worst Championship in recent memory and none of our players are good enough for the Premier League.

Gforce, would be nice, though hopefully more successful than Amir Karic, when we last went down that road, under GB. I have to say, he did look really good in that World Cup, didn’t translate to the Suffolk air obviously.

West Ham will shortly be in no position to put in any ‘significant offer’…so that’s one down 🙂

TimmyH added 20:51 – May 7
Sorry to be late on this but I seriously can’t believe we’ve signed Apom on a permanent, he was probably our WORSE acquisition in 20025/26, what the hell!!!!!!

TimmyH added 20:55 – May 7
Just read the feature which I missed, obligated to sign the worse loanee we’ve had in some time…no doubt he’ll be on a pay rise for doing very little.

NorwegianTractor added 22:09 – May 7
Interesting. As McKenna said a year ago we learned from the year in PL and need to sign more players with physical attributes – which except from maybe Kipre I can not say we have really done this last year. I had a few Norwegians on my list 2 years ago. Sander Berge – then at Burnley where we picked almost everyone but him, now at Fulham and Jørgen Strand Larsen who went to Wolves and is now at Crystal Palace – he had a better season for Wolves than Delap had for us, and works harder – but I would not mind getting Delap back this season . As we need to strenghten all over I have a few (Norwegian)names to throw in the mix that I think have the right attributes to improve our team. Young centre back Henrik Falchener, been awesome for last years winner of the Norwegian league Viking and has just gotten his first cap for Norway – possibly making the world cup squad. Tall guy winning headers in both boxes, not afraid to move up with the ball and good passing skills. Two midfielders I would love to see in blue, Thelo Aasgard, grew up playing for Wigan, now at Rangers and been netting a few for Norway as well. Youngster Jens Hjertø Dahl currently at Tromsø, where they turned down a bid from Besiktas last winter. Also a tall skillfull player that scores a lot from midfield. We can get references from Sindre Walle Egeli.and maybe have him put in a good word about being a blue 😉

armchaircritic59 added 23:58 – May 7
NorwegianTractor, you’ll know far better than me, but I believe there’s some really good players coming out of Scandinavia in general these days. Most definitely an area worth taking a look in I think.
