Paris Jackson adorably (and hilariously) marked Mother’s Day this past weekend.
The model and actress took to Instagram Stories to share a rare photo of herself with her mom, Debbie Rowe. In the picture, Paris wore a cowboy hat, a ripped brown T-shirt, jeans and lots of jewelry, while a smiling Rowe wore a simple pink T-shirt and jeans.
“Happy Mother’s Day to the lady they used for my template during the cloning process,” Paris joked, in a tongue-in-cheek reference to the mom and daughter duo’s striking resemblance.

The two women haven’t had a straightforward relationship since Paris, 28, was originally raised by her controversial father, Michael Jackson, as a solo parent.
Debbie — a nurse who worked at the pop star’s dermatologist’s office — and Michael were married between 1996 and 2000, welcoming son Prince Jackson in 1997 and daughter Paris in 1998, as reported by People. When the couple divorced, Michael was granted full custody rights to the two children they shared.
“When I was really, really young, my mom didn’t exist,” the model explained to Rolling Stone in a 2017 interview (via E! News). Eventually, though, she grew up to realize “a man can’t birth a child” and began asking Michael about her biological mother.
“By the time my mom came into my life, it wasn’t a ‘mommy’ thing,” she explained at the time. “
It’s more of an adult relationship,” she said, adding that Rowe was more like a “friend” to her than a mother figure.

Michael died in 2009, and his mother, Katherine Jackson, received custody of his children at that time.
In 2013, when Paris was 15, a report in People claimed that she and Debbie were spending more and more time together, including at the older woman’s ranch in Palmdale.
“Paris has been going through a lot of teenage angst and feels a little bit unloved,” a source told the outlet at the time. “So about three months ago, Paris reached out to her mother and told her she wanted to establish a relationship with her. Debbie was open to it, and Katherine Jackson is supportive of the developing relationship.”
They added, “She’s enjoyed telling friends in L.A. how she’s helping take care of a pregnant mare on the ranch, and even how she was recently chased by a chicken.”
These days, Paris doesn’t often share photos with her mom, but in February, she shared a couple of the two of them smiling on her Instagram Stories (via People), proving that they definitely still hang out.
