PARIS, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Paris man accused of murder in connection with the death of Luke Ashcraft is due in court on Wednesday afternoon.
In the early hours of May 13, Sheriff Tony Asbury told FOX 56 News that a Paris homeowner, later identified as 60-year-old Lucian “Luke” Ashcraft, died following an altercation with a man allegedly attempting to steal from his Ruddles Mill Road home.

First responders tried to save Ashcraft, but court documents show that he was pronounced dead at CenterPoint Hospital.
The suspect was later identified as 40-year-old Timothy Mitchell. He was subsequently arrested and charged with murder, first-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, and public intoxication under the influence of a controlled substance, excluding alcohol.

Mitchell is due in court at 1:30 p.m. on May 20 for a preliminary hearing in the case.
Ashcraft left behind his wife, his children, grandchildren, parents, siblings, friends, and loved ones, who are devastated by this tragic loss, according to a community fundraiser dedicated to supporting his family.
