00:05 – 00:37

Satya Chakravarthy, Founder and CEO, The ePlane Company: We are all about developing electric vehicles for the purpose of the most economical flying taxi trips in the world.

00:38 – 01:09

Satya Chakravarthy, Founder and CEO, The ePlane Company: Infrastructure is a huge challenge. Most cities are extremely crowded. We need the most compact wingspan to be able to land in tight spots, tight spaces. And, how to actually get both vertical flight as well as forward flight to happen in one go.

01:10 – 1:57

Mukundhan Dakshnamoorthy, Design and Simulation Engineer Lead, The ePlane Company: So we will mimic the environmental condition to simulate what is the altitude from the ground and what is the local temperature, what is the pressure and what is the velocity it is going to fly, in the forward velocity.

1:58 – 2:08

Satya Chakravarthy, Founder and CEO, The ePlane Company: With Dassault Systemes’ software, we can do CFD meshing or FEA or the engineering drawing itself. There are battery software, all of these things integrated into one platform.

2:09 – 2:23

Mukundhan Dakshnamoorthy, Design and Simulation Engineer Lead, The ePlane Company: Dassault Systemes is best software for aero design. And, it is helping to improve the performance of our aircraft and the efficiency. We have to ensure that whatever we are designing, we will come to know how it is going to perform.

2:24 – 2:35

Satya Chakravarthy, Founder and CEO, The ePlane Company: Our calculations show that we may be able to do as many as about 50 trips of about 30km each, which is fairly long distances within the city. The ultimate goal is to be able to do multiple short trips in a single charge of the battery. Going forward, we believe that Dassault Systemes will also actually help us with developing better batteries.

Sean Black: DELMIA Augmented Experience is a key enabler of Spirit AeroSystems digital modernization strategy. By integrating augmented reality and digital twin technology in our operations, we can create a more seamless integration across our product lifecycle. This improves accuracy, increases quality, reduces rework, and, critically, increases collaboration across our teams.
