France is coming to New York. Queer Eye star Tan France and his husband, Rob, have listed their custom-designed home in Salt Lake City, Utah, for $7.5 million with Summit Sotheby’s. It took three years for the couple to build the Tudor-style dwelling, which Architectural Digest toured in 2024, in collaboration with Tom and Cara Fox of Fox Group. The five bedroom home’s nearly 7,000-square-foot interior takes inspiration from American, English, and South Asian styles, including a richly colored 1,000-square-foot closet inspired by 19th-century Pakistani royalty. “I treated this house like a [fashion] collection,” Tan France told AD. “I wanted the top of the house to be like the opening look of a runway, and I wanted the final look to be shocking as the showstopper.”

In a 2018 interview with The Salt Lake Tribune, France revealed that he was convinced to move to Salt Lake City during a 2006 visit. “I went out to dinner at Chili’s on Fourth South, and at the end of that meal, I said to my friend, ‘I’m going to live here one day.’” After that, the Next in Fashion host continued to visit Utah every few months; the following year, he married Rob, a native of the state, after which, he said, “I planned on Utah being my home.”
The British-American fashion designer took to Instagram yesterday to explain the move, revealing plans for the couple and their two children to relocate to New York City despite having to leave behind their home and pool: “It’s a house that we are crazy about, that we thought would be our forever home. However, we’ve decided to move to the East Coast,” France said in the video post. “We live like senior citizens who are retired… I’ve said no to almost everything because I already fly so much for work that I don’t want to go to New York just for events and to hang out with friends.”
