The miscellaneous apparel and accessory stores category has remained resilient throughout the period, increasing its percentage share of the wider category from late last year through to May, only reporting one decrease in the past seven months, when it fell by 1.5% month-on-month in April.
Over the past month several high-profile luxury retailers have released their 2025 full-year results, reflecting the wider spending trends in the market.
Swarovski International NZ reported a 14.9% increase in revenue for the year ended December 31, 2025, lifting to $13.2 million from $11.5m the year prior.
The business reported a loss of $54,062 but it was a 78.9% improvement on its $257,148 loss the year prior. Before income tax, Swarovski International NZ reported a $34,170 profit.
Despite the loss for the year, the company had working capital of $995,270 and equity of $1.2m, with the director believing it appropriate to prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis.
Swarovski International NZ has $1m in short-term borrowings and $1.7m in long-term borrowings in multiple agreements with Crystalon Finanz AG, a commonly controlled entity.
Prada New Zealand had a slight drop in revenue, falling 3.8% from $5.68m to $5.46m for the year ended December 31, 2025.
The business reported a boost to its profit for the year, lifting from $173,908 to $257,891, an increase of 48.2%.
The profit was aided by a substantially lower finance and tax burden, with Prada NZ paying $34,339 in income tax compared with $67,632 in 2024, while its finance expenses fell from $240,103 to $206,669.
One expense that did increase for the business was its rent, lifting 27.2% from $154,887 to $197,054 within the year.

Chanel New Zealand also had a slight drop in revenue, with sales falling 5.5% from $15.7m to $14.9m for the year ended December 31, 2025.
Total expenses were down year-on-year at $14.3m, although property expenses increased similar to Prada, lifting $13,000 to $286,000 for the year.
Overall, Chanel New Zealand reported a net profit of $427,000, down 24.9% from $569,000 the year prior.
The company also paid dividends of $1.2m.
Christian Dior New Zealand fell into a similar category, with its revenue falling from $16.7m to $15.6m, down 6.5%.
Expenses fell broadly for the business, with the cost of sales in particular lowering, down from $8m in 2024 to $6.6m in 2025.
However, payments to suppliers for the business, inclusive of goods and services taxes, increased from $11m to $13.7m year-on-year.
The company’s income tax expense lifted from $922,000 to $1m.
At year-end, Christian Dior New Zealand reported a net profit of $2.7m, up 12.9% from $2.39m in 2024.
Christian Dior New Zealand is ultimately owned by LVMH Moet-Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
Tiffany & Co New Zealand reported the largest percentage decline in revenue of the brands assessed, with revenue falling 16.7% from $15.8m to $13.1m.
Employee expenses fell for the business from $1.7m to $1.3m, suggesting the company has reduced its number of staff, although the reports do not confirm this.
However, the largest reduction in expenses is listed under “other expenses”, in which no explanation or breakdown is provided. This expense fell from $2.2m in 2024 to $1.6m in 2025.
Largely because of that reduction, Tiffany & Co NZ reported a net profit of $452,000, a 205% increase from $148,000 the year prior.

Louis Vuitton New Zealand held its position as the country’s largest luxury retailer, despite a reduction in revenue for the year to December 31, 2025, from $82.2m to $79.5m.
Unlike other retailers on this list which reported rising property expenses, Louis Vuitton reported a reduction in its rental property costs, down from $1.8m to $1.6m year-on-year.
However, the company’s income tax expense increased, up from $6.4m in 2024 to $7.1m in 2025.
Overall, Louis Vuitton NZ reported a net profit for 2025 of $18.4m, up 3.1% from $17.8m in 2024.
The company paid a dividend of $17.8m for the year, representative of $3.80 per ordinary share.
