IndiGo is set to expand the use of its long-range Airbus A321XLR fleet by upgrading its Delhi (IGI Airport) and Mumbai (CSMI Airport) to Denpasar (Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport) services. This upgrade will take place during the Northern Winter 2026/27 season. Additionally, from July 18th, the airline will introduce premium IndiGoStretch on the Bengaluru to Mauritius route to improve passenger experience.

IndiGo’s Airbus A321XLR fleet has been a key feature in its international expansion strategy. This aircraft has a range of up to 8,700 km and features 12 IndiGoStretch seats and 183 Economy seats, making it ideal for medium-haul and select long-haul routes. The Delhi and Mumbai to Bali flights are currently using an A320neo aircraft, with a stop in Bhubaneswar/Chennai. This flight can not fly directly to Bali, and thus an upgrade to the new Airbus A321XLR will be of major help.
The airline has ordered 40 Airbus A321XLRs, of which nine will be delivered by the end of 2026. This upgrade will allow IndiGo to improve its foundation in Southeast Asia and make travel convenient. Since Bali is a popular tourist destination and loved by Indian’s, IndiGo has indicated that Denpasar would be among the first destinations to receive the Airbus A321XLR aircraft after Athens and Istanbul.
Additionally, the premium IndiGoStretch on the Bengaluru to Mauritius route will allow travellers to enjoy features such as wider seats, deeper recline, priority check-in and boarding, and complimentary meals. Mauritius has emerged as a key international destination for IndiGo, and this move proves the airline’s effort to provide premium services on longer routes.
