France will soon be getting a new Edición Regional release, as the Bolívar Evento 55 is scheduled to be on store shelves in mid-July.
It is a 5 1/2 (140mm) x 52 robusto extra, a size known as the Genios in the Cuban cigar portfolio. It’s a size that has been used for numerous other Edición Regional releases, but is perhaps best known for being used for the Cohiba Genios, part of the brand’s maduro line.
Beyond being an Edición Regional release, the cigars celebrate the 55th anniversary of Coprova S.A.S., the distributor of Habanos S.A. products in France. The secondary band features a special design that recognizes the occasion and the cigars’ status as an Edición Regional. “This Regional Edition dedicated to the French market crowns more than half a century of passion, commitment, and transmission of the Habano culture in France,” the company said in a press release.
Production is limited to 4,000 boxes of 50 cigars, with pricing set at €1,750 ($2,008) per box and €35 ($40.16) per cigar.
