Global Protest Against the Execution of Heroic PMOI Members and Brave Young Protesters

On Saturday, April 11, coinciding with a wave of global protests against the execution of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and courageous young protesters by the regime, thousands of Iranians, along with prominent figures and French supporters of the Iranian Resistance, held a demonstration in Paris.
In a video message addressed to the demonstrators, Maryam Rajavi said:

Fellow compatriots, friends and supporters of the Iranian Resistance,
Your gathering today is a flame of the Iranian people’s Resistance and uprising; people who are counting the days to achieve freedom and popular sovereignty, and who have raised the banner of peace and freedom.
The January uprising has brought Iran to the threshold of change.
The ruling clerics have seized upon war as an opportunity to tighten the noose and block the path of a new generation of resistance and uprising, especially the forces of the Liberation Army. They seek to contain the consequences of the January massacre through executions and the gallows. They aim to confront the rising tide of uprisings that will follow once the war subsides.
The execution of 13 heroic members of the PMOI and brave young protesters is, of course, deeply heartbreaking for me, our friends and supporters, and our fellow compatriots. Yet their rise under the grip of inhuman repression, and their faith and loyalty to a liberating ideal, carry a powerful message. The message is that a resolute generation, forged in determination, has stepped onto the battlefield, one that stands as a true match for the regime of Velayat-e Faqih and is determined to replace this reactionary system with a democratic republic, freedom, and the sovereignty of the people.
Salute to the heroic PMOI members, Mohammad Taghavi, Akbar Daneshvarkar, Babak Alipour, Pouya Ghobadi, Abolhassan Montazar, and Vahid Bani Amerian, and to the brave young protesters: Saleh Mohammadi, Amirhossein Hatami, Mohammad Amin Biglari, Mehdi Ghassemi, Saeed Davoudi, Shahin Vahedparast, and Ali Fahim. Salute to them all!

The ruling clerics, in their familiar language of executions and massacres, admit that the force capable of overthrowing their regime lies in the Resistance Units, the Liberation Army, and the organized uprising.
At the heart of their fear is the revolutionary solution, demonstrated on February 23 in the attack by PMOI Resistance Units on Khamenei’s headquarters and key state institutions in Tehran’s most heavily secured district. This reality has been proven over four decades of struggle against the mullahs’ dictatorship and the Revolutionary Guards. This solution is what defines the democratic alternative of the National Council of Resistance and its declaration of a provisional government, under the slogan of peace and freedom, to transfer sovereignty to the people of Iran.
Salute to this aware and fighting generation that has risen for a democratic revolution and a just social order; and salute to their proud mothers and fathers, who have stood in support of their children, defend their just cause, and willingly endure imprisonment and captivity alongside them.

The Resistance’s slogan has always been peace and freedom

Here, on behalf of the Iranian Resistance, I declare:

1. We welcome a ceasefire, especially a halt to attacks on civilian infrastructure and facilities. The slogan of the Iranian Resistance and the provisional government has always been, and remains, peace and freedom. It is our hope that the 15-day ceasefire, contrary to the wishes of the remnants of both the mullahs and the Shah, will lead to an end to the war and pave the way for peace and freedom. Lasting peace can only be achieved through the overthrow of the religious dictatorship by the Iranian people and the organized resistance, and the establishment of a democratic republic.
2. The successive executions of proud members of the PMOI and protesters reflect the desperation of a regime that has reached its end. These killings further underscore the legitimacy and necessity of resistance to overthrow the regime. The abolition of executions in Iran, which is an unequivocal demand of the entire Iranian nation, must be included in any international agreement.
3. The warmongering of the ruling religious fascism, as well as calls by the remnants of the monarchical dictatorship to escalate the war, have nothing to do with the Iranian people. They merely reflect the anti-patriotic ambitions of both sides: one seeking to preserve power, the other deluded in its pursuit of power—both willing to see Iran destroyed. As Massoud Rajavi said: “Any form of fascism or dictatorship, whether religious or monarchical, as it has been over the past 100 years, constitutes a war against the Iranian people.”
4. The strong condemnation of last week’s executions of PMOI members by various political parties and groups as well as Iran’s oppressed ethnic nationalities once again demonstrated that, within the people’s front, all currents and personalities, regardless of belief or orientation, stand united and in solidarity against this regime and its crimes.
5. The silence of the international community in the face of the series of executions in recent weeks is unjustifiable and a continuation of the policy of appeasement that has brought catastrophe to the world. The impunity of the regime’s leaders must end. They must be held accountable under universal jurisdiction for 45 years of crimes against humanity and genocide.
6. We call on the United Nations to convene a special session to address the ongoing executions of political prisoners, and we demand binding and immediate decisions by the UN Security Council to save those prisoners currently facing execution.

May the dark era of tyranny, war, and destruction be overcome by an era of freedom and popular sovereignty, an era of peace and freedom.
Salute to the martyrs
Long live freedom
