Paris Jackson wants that million-dollar cheque cleared!
The icon’s daughter has approached the court to give standing orders to executors of her father’s estate to activate a repayment process for a six-figure sum covering her legal fees and other expenses to her family’s purse.

The singer’s daughter put her foot down and demanded that a repayment of $3 million be disbursed to her account, citing that she incurred $1.1 million in legal fees due to an unnecessarily prolonged process.
While her first demand was directed to the other half of the estate executors, John Branca, she also accused him of authorizing about $2.85 million in gifts without approval. She asked the court to recover those funds for the benefit of her family.
Branca and John McClain are both responsible for the execution of the late Michael Jackson’s estate. Her legal team has analyzed Paris’s latest move as a move towards equity, fairness, and transparency that has become necessary in the face of Branca’s spending habits.
As stated by US Weekly, Paris’s legal team continued that Branca’s poor financial oversight and wasteful spending have placed the beneficiaries of Michael’s estate at a disservice.

The estate executors have now reacted to Paris’ claims, insisting that every dollar spent has been accounted for and managed according to Michael’s will.
The team noted that the “opposition ignores the foregoing realities and instead is filled with irrelevant attacks such as the suggestion that the Executor is responsible for the fact that Michael Jackson’s Estate has not yet been closed.”
Paris argued that she should be reimbursed for the legal fees she incurred after previously sealed estate payments were made public. She said Branca needlessly extended the dispute by spending the estate’s resources, hiring people who had something to gain from the disputed payments to defend the estate, and costing the estate more money.
Paris argued that the costs of needless litigation to make the case more complex and expensive should not be borne by her. Michael’s estate lawyers responded, alleging that Paris had made inflammatory claims and misrepresented facts.
They contended her objections had no legal basis and that she should not be permitted to contest the arguments made by the court on the sealed records. A hearing to decide if Paris can recover the cost of her lawyer’s fees has been set for September 3.

In May, The Blast shared that the 28-year-old secured a resounding legal victory as the judge ordered that Branca and McClain make a repayment of $625,000 to the estate. The sum was the total of bonuses Paris claimed were improperly awarded without due consultation.
As initially reported by The Daily Mail, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff ruled that the payments, made to external law firms in the second half of 2018, were unjustified and formally disallowed them.
Judge Beckloff’s ruling was music to Paris’ ears as it reinforced the need for greater financial accountability in the handling of the estate’s finances. The judge also cleared Paris to pursue reimbursement for her legal fees after ruling that her objections were valid.
Branca and McClain, however, clarified that the $625,000 in dispute was duly disbursed to third-party firms and not to their personal purses, hence eliminating speculations of receiving any improper payments.

Paris has fought tooth and nail to restore order to her father’s estate, a move that has been tagged performative by some critics and protective by others. The Blast added that the media personality explained in a podcast that she is in a beautiful spot with her father and does not owe the public a glimpse into that.
“I’m not going to express my love in a copycat way, copying someone that didn’t know him. Because I did. That was my best friend,” she stressed. Paris also disputed the spoiled brat claims, insisting that Michael, in fact, raised her and her siblings to value hard work and appreciate a great work ethic.
The actress continued, growing up with a silver spoon did not negate the fact that she had to earn most of her career and lifestyle. She also laid to rest the constant discussion surrounding her biological roots and connection to the King of Pop, insisting that he would regularly tell her to be proud of her Black roots.

The “Michael” biopic debuted in April and went on to be a box office bonanza, but Paris was less concerned about looking for any association with the project. In 2025, she publicly challenged actor Colman Domingo, who played her grandfather, Joe Jackson, after he claimed Paris and her brother Prince supported the production.
Paris told the NPR story that she had read early versions of the screenplay and marked the ones she felt were in error about her family, but they did not listen to her. She continued that she eventually gave up on fighting for changes to the production.
Michael passed away on June 25, 2009, aged 50, following a cardiac arrest due to acute propofol (a sleep-inducing anesthetic) and benzodiazepine intoxication. Dr. Conrad Murray, his own doctor, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the singer’s death.
Reacting to the movie, Paris doubled down on her criticism, claiming that the story has been scripted by others and deviated too much from the truth. She said that the final version was filled with inaccuracies and was made up.
